Welcome to Tamahere Li'l Pumpkins Early Learning
Our centre is situated in Tamahere and has been purpose built to provide education and care to children in four separate learning groups based on age. We have a large, one acre backyard outdoor play space, which gives our children the opportunity to experience the old fashioned kiwi backyard that we all grew up with.
Our learning equipment is carefully selected to reflect sustainable practices and our Reggio Emilia approach to learning. We favour natural materials including glass, wood and, clay and gifts from nature for the children to explore, play and experiment with. We believe this encourages children to respect the world around them.
Our teaching staff are all highly qualified and very passionate about their roles within the centre. Most staff are registered teachers and many also hold higher qualifications such as music degrees and post graduate qualifications in teaching and the arts. All of our teachers continue to research and explore new teaching methods and everyone is involved in on-going professional development.
We also employ specialist staff to explore music, art, drama and storytelling with the children. These specialists are professional international artists. Such as Lewis Morgan (Zebong Teller of Tales) who is a fantastic storyteller and Darcy Perry of the Darcy Perry Blues Band who teaches the kids ukulele.
